Freemasonry and The Pagan Revival | Digital Edition
Freemasonry and The Pagan Revival | Digital Edition
Digital Edition | October 2024
This issue of Fraternal Review constitutes probably the first ever in-depth exploration of connections between Freemasonry and the pagan Mysteries of northern Europe to be published in a Masonic magazine. The pagan revival began, arguably, with Rosicrucian and runic scholar Johannes Bureus (1568–1652). The 18th century saw neo-Druidry emerge. However, it was not until the 20th century that we see the pagan revival at full force, with faiths such as Wicca and Asatru emerging. Freemasons took an interest in paganism long before this.
Fraternally,
Angel Millar, Editor-in-Chief
Angel is the Editor-in-Chief of the Fraternal Review and the author of The Three Stages of Initiatic Spirituality and The Path of the Warrior-Mystic (Inner Traditions) as well as three histories of Freemasonry.
